Construction Worksite Overview

How it works

Our innovation process is built around real site challenges. You submit an idea, we assess it quickly, then test the strongest concepts in real working conditions. From there, we refine and roll out the solutions that prove they can deliver value. Below are the steps we follow to take an idea from submission to full launch.

1

Stage Gate 1

If you spot a problem on site or have an idea for a better product or solution, you can submit it directly to us. We ask for a quick description of the issue, what you think the solution could be, and what impact it might have. From there, our team reviews the idea and decides whether it should move forward.

2

Stage Gate 2

Next, we do a fast, high-level review to see whether the idea fits our customers’ needs and is realistic to deliver. We look at things like how well it aligns with our priorities, whether it can be built and supplied safely, and the potential value it could bring. Within 1–2 weeks, we’ll confirm whether it’s worth pursuing.

3

Stage Gate 3

If the idea passes the initial review, we dig deeper. This stage gate includes researching the market, checking what already exists, and assessing the costs, risks, and timeline. We also confirm whether we can meet any technical or compliance requirements. At the end of this stage gate, we decide whether to move into a pilot.

4

Stage Gate 4

We then build a small-scale version or run a trial to test the idea in real working conditions. This helps us validate assumptions, measure results, and gather feedback from the people who will actually use it. Based on the pilot, we decide whether to proceed, adjust the idea, or stop.

5

Stage Gate 5

Once a pilot proves successful, we plan the full rollout. This includes finalising the product design, setting timelines, confirming supply and delivery, and making sure our teams are aligned to support it. We only move forward once we’re confident it can be delivered reliably and at the right quality.

Finally, we launch the solution to customers and monitor performance closely. We track results, gather feedback, and make improvements where needed. The lessons learned are used to improve future innovation projects, so every idea makes us better at solving real site problems.
